Homemade Oreo Cheesecake

Assalammualaikum..

Since I got nothing to do and want to do something, so I decided to make Oreo Cheesecake. Usually I tend to go nearby bakery when I was craving for it, but its sure does cost me $$$. I already have the recipe and keep it for a long time already. But before doing it, I did some research, which version is better, baked or chilled version. And apparently, I found that chilled version looks more appetizing. So I ended up with chilled version. Moreover chilled version required less ingredient. So enuf with blabbering..

So here is the product, tadaa~

1st attempt :)

Want to know the recipe?

Its below baby :D

Ingredients :

Utensil:
  • 2 Mixing bowl ( small and medium size)
  • ziplock bag
  • rolling pin
  • rubber spatula (you sure does not want to waste any of the cream cheese batter :p )
  • Spring form tin / Round tin 7x7 inch.
  • Plastic wrap / cling wrap ( if you are using non-spring form tin)

-Place the plastic wrap inside the tin, so that will be easier to bring it out later on even you are not using spring form tin. Set aside.

For base :
One package of regular Oreo ( Refer to the pict below later) 1/4 cup of unsalted butter ( 2 oz)

Ways :
  • Put in the Oreos in ziplock bags ( to make it easier and no messy created during crushing the oreos) and 'bang' , 'bang', 'bang' the oreos just like in the picture until finely crushed.

  • Then melt the 1/4 cup of butter in the microwave or in sauce pan (make sure on low heat)
  • Mix together the crushed oreos and melted butter until fully combined.
  • Pack in (flattened) the oreos mixture on the prepared tin, 7x7 inc, round shape.
  • Set aside in the fridge while we off to make the cream cheese batter.....

Cream Cheese mixtures:

250g Room-temperatured Philadelphia Cream Cheese ( 1 box )

250g whipped cream (1 cup)

250g sour cream (1 cup)

4 tbsp castor / granulated sugar

1 tbsp of gelatine powder

1/4 of hot water

Another 1 package regular oreos (this is depends how much you like oreos!)

Ways:

  • Break the Oreos into chunks and some into small pieces. (break into 4)
  • Combined the gelatine and hot water, mix until no more granules of the gelatine powder left and become liquid. Set aside.
  • Beat the room-temperatured cream cheese, sour cream and sugar till FULLY SMOOTH and shiny consistency.
  • Add up the whipped cream. At this moment, the mixture should be realllllly smooth.
  • If already smooth, mix in the gelatine mixture. Make sure the gelatine are really combined together with the CC mixture.
  • Last but not least, fold in the oreo chunks and small pieces.
  • Take out the prepared tin with Oreo base and pour in the mixture. Give some jiggle and tap for several times to prevent any air bubbles.
  • Put in the fridge and chilled for about 4-5 hours. The longer the easier the cake to be sliced.

Few notes :

  1. I didnt remove the filling, thats why I did not add any sugar in the base mixture.
  2. In making cheese cake, all ingredients need to be in ROOM-TEMPERATURE, so that the mixture will creamed well.

Happy Baking !
